Autumn Elopement in Sandpoint, Idaho

Lauren & Rhett had dinner reservations at a gorgeous fancy restaurant, but go so hungry after their elopement they canceled and got Taco Bell. If that isn’t the most on-brand thing I’ve ever heard, I don’t know what is 😂 If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that before we became vegan, Taco Bell was literally a daily occurrence.

Anyway, on to wedding stuff - Lauren & Rhett originally planned to elope in Italy. But, like we’ve all seen before, COVID had different plans. With the travel bans in place and no end in sight (LOL 2020 was a very long, dark tunnel at times), they knew that they didn’t want to wait and that they’d find a way to elope locally. Sandpoint, ID is about an hour or so outside of Spokane, WA and it’s the cutest little town. In the summer, it’s full of beach hangs, mountain hikes, ice cream shop visits, and seafood on the lake. In the winter, everyone retreats to Schweitzer (the mountain resort) with epic views. You can even ride the chairlift to the top for a meal at the Sky House. Google it, it’s cool.

Lauren & Rhett eloped in the fall, so it was the perfect combination of good weather and low traffic. Their elopement was everything they wanted it to be - it was stripped of traditions they didn’t value, events they didn’t need, superstitions they didn't believe in, and it was all replaced with little moments and aspects of their relationship they love most. They stayed at a modern mountain Airbnb, got dressed together, danced barefoot to their favorite songs, wrote their vows, and had their ceremony on the patio, and explored the sleepy fall Sandpoint all afternoon. It was perfect.

Lauren hand-picked every little detail off Etsy, even down to her handmade vintage 40’s wedding dress and her getting ready outfit, which is an heirloom from her mother’s wedding (so freakin’ cool). She did her own makeup and hair, arranged florals, set up her ceremony location, and left her personality all over her design and accessories (which were amazing, you’ll see).
