Buffalo, NY Winter Wedding: Kelsea + Coty

Where, oh where, do I begin. The beginning, I guess!

so funny story…

When I first launched my photography business in 2017, I met Kelsea via Instagram. I don’t remember the exact date, but she reached out to me about wedding photography and how she loved my work (I was brand new and was seriously in AWE that someone would reach out from the other side of the country to compliment me). She told me that she would hire me one day. I chalked it up to good conversation and a super sweet human who was giving me the best compliment ever.

She said “As soon as we pick out a date, please come to Ireland and photograph our Elopement.” I probably cried and jumped up and down at the THOUGHT of traveling to Ireland for photography.

Time passed by, wedding plans changed, and Kelsea and I continued to be Insta besties completely separate from the photography conversation. Until one day, she put in an inquiry (2 years after our initial conversation), and booked me for her intimate Buffalo, New York wedding.

It was the best day because I felt like I was literally documenting my FRIEND’s wedding. Kelsea is the coolest freakin’ chick and I miss her already. Coty - I miss you too don’t worry!

Kelsea is beyond beyond talented - she’s a florist, a photographer, and an event designer. No joke. Check her out // photo & florals: @kelseawinchell // event design @caldpoppyco . SO (and to be expected) her wedding was basically a magical winter dream. It was the perfect mix of bohemian and classic, intimate and public, winter and summer (because it was December in New York and also bc her ceremony was like 80 degrees inside a giant greenhouse), EVERYTHING.

Most of all, her wedding was FUN. My fav videographer, Miranda Lyn Video, and I were having the time of our lives all throughout the day. (Photographers — you all know how special that is!). Thank you, Kelsea, for creating a space for such authentic and joyous emotions. It was truly amazing. I’ll never forget hiking around the icy harbor rocks post-ceremony with her brother, her family’s SUV, some gorgeous florals and just having a blast! Also - the harbor bridal portraits (make sure you see them below) are prob some of my fav images ever.

TAKE ME BACK TO BUFFALO, NY!

Also, sidenote that likely no one cares about: Root & Bloom was like the most delicious and cutest restaurant I’d been to. I went fully vegan like a month before this trip and Root & Bloom is a vegan restaurant, so I had to give it a try. UHM, dead. Have you ever heard of Jackfruit? You’ll wanna check it out. trust me.

ENJOY!
